Height of Hypocrisy
The people of Nigeria has turned the issue of governance into soccer rivalry... they take sides with political parties rather than keeping politicians on their toes and let them feel the heat of their mismanagement of our resources, people are busy fighting and dividing themselves along party lines forgetting or ignoring the fact that they're the losers either ways... whether APC or PDP it is you, yes I mean you that is hiding behind partisan sentiments that will continually be at the receiving end of their political banditry...
Instead of you to join forces to challenge government's shenanigans across board, you're busy defending APC or PDP.. can you tell me how or what APC or PDP or any of the political parties we have in Nigeria has benefited the masses.. and when I talk you start calling me names or making unsubstantiated claims about being sponsored by the opposition.. do we have any opposition in Nigeria?
The answer is capital No!
What we have in Nigeria is the opposition of the masses, the political class always gather and form different groups under the pretense of forming political parties and place themselves over us with the primary aims of enriching themselves and you as a Nigerian without any hope or assurance of where your next meal is coming from will go about calling people who are contributing in their own little ways to sensitize and liberate your ignorance names, simply because you believe a political party had made some promise which are nowhere near fulfillment and you're hoping and banking on such empty promises. You and i supported this same Buhari whom I'm now criticizing because he started failing as the people's president in less than 360 days of getting to office.
Buhari condemned in strong terms the issue of public office holders seeking medical treatment abroad, but when his integrity was divinely put to test by the Almighty Allah who is never in support of the hypocrites like many Nigerians, he had issues with his ears, for someone who had condemned seeking medical treatment abroad while campaigning for elections, the most honourable thing Buhari is expected to do was to go abroad only once for the treatment of his ear infection and make proper arrangements to ensure that he provides the best Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) centres in at least 2 major federal medical centres in Nigeria, God tested his sincerity with the ear infection but he failed woefully in that regard.
What will be the fate of many Nigerians who are being owed several months of unpaid salaries, pensions and gratuities if they have the same ear infection like Buhari?
Will they also fly to London for treatment at the expense of the tax payers money?
The health sector supposed to be the most efficient under Buhari's government but it is quite ironically pathetic that the same sector is the first to have a showdown of nationwide strikes citing lack of equipment and poor welfare as part of their greviances.
Buhari's statement on medical tourism and his medical conditions vis avis his electoral promises are divine arrangement to actually establish his sincerity but Nigerians ain't seeing it that way, they're being veiled by partisan sentiments.
It will be be very regrettable if during Buhari's tenure Nigeria can not boast of improved medical facilities especially in the department of Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) which is at least the disclosed ailment of the president.
What else do we need to know that all our political gladiators are either six or half a dozen?.
They're not different in any ways.
Time is going, Nigeria is ageing and greying... politicians are looting while the masses are foolishly hoping.. I don't know when hope becomes a Strategy..
It's High time we started strategizing on how to unite against the political class and liberate ourselves to know and see beyond being mesmerized by empty political promises.
The prosperity or otherwise of Nigeria is exclusively in the hands of Nigerians.
I've thought severally on abandoning my vocation as political and social commentator and squarely face my source of livelihood which is my property business but I can't turn a blind eye to the ravaging ills of our political class against their supposed duties of making the people feel the presence and importance of governance, rather, they're the ones enriching themselves with stupendous wealth acquisition and the masses are foolishly supporting them.
What a pity?.
