On Audu Ogbe's Yam Export and the attending reactions.
Still on the Audu Ogbe and the yam export fiasco :
I wonder why Nigerian government and Nigerians freely refers to the country as the giant of Africa.. when exportation of food product such as yam should be a problem for our government... why is it so hard for the government to really study the terrain of food product exportation before embarking on the wasteful and careless adventure?
I wonder whether PMB and his Agric minister actually wanted to promote the exportation of yam as another source of forex for the country or they just merely wanted to engage in another glamorous show of deceit.. if the former is the case, then, they should've found out how best to achieve that feat instead of their usual fire brigade approach to everything... a Nigerian who owns one of the finest African Food Stores in Portsmouth UK told me last month when discussing Nigeria that he wanted to show some patriotism by supporting the new Nigerian government's initiative of exporting yam to the UK amongst other countries.. instead of buying yam which they sell in their store from the regular' Ghanian food market, he decided to patronize the Buhari and Audi Ogbe yam and lo and behold more than 90% of the yam in the Nigerian exported yams had spoilt... he had to return them and collect full refund of his money (thank God it happened in the UK, if it were to be here, the buyer of the defected goods usually pays for products and services they never enjoyed ) and he had to return to his Ghanaian customer to buy correct yam to sell in his shop.
You can see the level of patriotism and readiness of Nigerians both home and abroad to support the government in everything they put forward as citizens but government on their side always short change the people.
How many years will it take Audi Ogbe to send Nigerians to study how Ghana has been successfully exporting yams to the UK?
And someone is telling me that government did I not get it right at first should not mean they did not do the right thing... very lazy and lame of an excuse... like I always say: Nigerians are 90% of Nigeria's problem... we love to passionately celebrate and defend mediocrity instead of addressing real issues.. I wonder how Audi Ogbe and PMB will regain the trust of those consumers who purchased their packaged rotten yams which were Dead on Delivery (DOD) or Brought in Dead (BID).
Its so pathetic, our Nigerian-ess has dealt another costly blow on us, we hardly prepare for anything, embarking on a project like that should've been another wonderful opportunity for APC government to showcase it's Change campaign to the world but they carelessly bungled the chance.
Are we now saying if Nigeria government should start making cars in Nigeria, Nigerians should be ready to sacrifice their lives for test running of the vehicles or what? Because they can't get it done at once... successive governments had always sensationalize everything and nothing has good has come out from any of those sensationalized things... Where is Obasanjo's NIGCOMSAT space project today?
Our social, political and economic trajectories in the last four decades seems to had been preset by some known forces, it is our collective responsibilities to deflect this missile through our consciousness and patriotic zeal.
Let's all refrain from being sentimental and politicizing every truth.
What's worth doing at all is worth doing well... the usual lazy Nigerian quotes of Rome was not built in a day or A country that was ruined for several years can not be rebuilt in a day... wake up Nigerians, let us be Nigerians first before leaning towards any of the deceitful political divides we have in Nigerian... politicians in Nigeria are only for themselves irrespective of their party affiliation APC, PDP, POP, POO or AKA are all looters in waiting.. let us all unite against them and focus on how to get Nigeria working...
We've realized that the problem with our country is not political party but individual and institutionalized corruption which are being aided by our fraudulent military constitution, which is making it impossible for looters to escape justice.
Ka le wi nipa temi pe e..Deji Ogundimu did not keep silent in the face of our national political dilemma.
